Today marks the 41st birthday of the great bodhisattva, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje. At Karmapa International Buddhist Institute, Β we began this auspicious morning with a mandala offering, smoke puja, His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorje Guru yoga and longevity aspiration prayers. After a short break, we lit butterlamps and cut the cake in the presence of all sangha, staff, KIBI’s Himalayan language students and guests.
Later-on, we conducted a life releases: we went to Ghaziabad to buy one thousand fish which we then, accompanied by the recitation of the Amitayus and Amitabha texts, set free into the river.
May the Gyalwa Karmapa’s teachings continue to inspire and benefit countless beings for years to come. Long live Your Holiness, and may all sentient beings alwaysΒ beΒ happy!
