“Just breathe.
And in case you feel that you can’t breathe, and things seem to be dimming, know this to be the very sign that you are in fact breathing – breathing beyond this pair of lungs, breathing in the form of living and dying.”
~ His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje ~
On 24th of December, at KIBI we began the Public Meditation Course (PMC) with an introduction to the practices of Sojong and the Four Foundations by Ven. Khenpo Tsering Samdrub. From tomorrow onwards, we start the actual course program, with Sojong vows and teachings.
This year, once again our PMC is led by the Gyalwa Karmapa who will give teachings on the Chenrezig practice. This is an auspicious opportunity for all participants as many practitioners join together and we all, in conclusion of the session, recite the Chenrezig Sadhana along with His Holiness.
Further, three teachers will share the precious Dharma with us: Ven. Drubpon Nyigyam Rinpoche will grant Sojong vows every morning and teach on the preliminaries, the practice of Dorje Sempa; Ven. Khenpo Tsering Samdrub will teach on Namshe Yeshe, “Distinguishing Consciousness from Wisdom”; and Ven. Khenpo Chochok will teach on Gyu Lama or Uttarantantra Shastra, the “Treatise on the Sublime Continuum”.
While many practitioners come to KIBI’s meditation course every year, this year there are about one hundred participants who, having a fortunate connection to KIBI, are joining the course for the first time. Thus, we would like to share merit to all those individuals, as well as all sentient beings. May all beings always be happy and have no obstacles in their life!
May the splendour of Christmas fill your heart with wonder and may the new year bring new opportunities, new joys, and a world of happiness to you all.
Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year 2024!
