Presided over by H.H. the Gyalwa Karmapa Thaye Dorje, KIBI observed the commemorations of two important spiritual events today with Feast Offerings, prayer ceremonies, collective aspirations and concluded by a 1000 butter lamp offerings.
The commemorations were twofold: Today is one of the most auspicious day in the Buddhist calendar of Chotrul Duchen (Great Day of Miracles) – a date when Gautam Buddha manifested great miracles on the Full Moon day to tame and subdue certain beings; Secondly, this day also marks the Maha-Parinirvana of Marpa Lotsawa – the founder father of the Kagyu lineage and a great translator of the 10th Century.
The commemorations were collectively attended by the staff, students and administrations of KIBI, and the events also witnessed the participation of disciples and well-wishers living in Delhi.
