KIBI PUBLIC MEDITATION COURSE 2018/19 BEGINS

New Delhi, 25th Dec 2018:   Once again the nine-day KIBI Public Meditation Course (PMC) has begun with a warm introduction by Skarma Ishey Junges (Thabka), the acting General Secretary of KIBS at 3:30 pm. It was interpreted by Mr. Mirti, a former General Secretary of KIBS.

At 4 pm Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche gave a brief introduction of Sojong (Mending-purification) and Four Foundations Practice, which was interpreted by Khenpo Tsering. A warm welcome dinner was served at around 7 pm.

PMC was designed to deepen Buddhist knowledge and promote serious Buddhist practice for the lay sanghas of Karma Kagyud International Buddhist Mandala. Since Buddhists believe that by accumulating merits at the end of the year would bring good fortunes in the upcoming year, the course is held one-week prior to the new year.

Venerable Maniwa Lama Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche will be teaching the overview of Four Foundations, Four Basic Thoughts and Mind Training (Interpreter: Khenpo Tsering) for eight days. Ven. Choying Rinpoche will be teaching the Four Mindful Establishments for six days, which will be followed by two days of Theravada perspective of Sathipatana Sutta by Professor Sempa Dorje (Interpreter: Mriti). Venerable Lama Nyigyam Rinpoche will be conferring daily sojong vows and in the evening, he will also be leading the Shamatha Meditation practice (Interpreter: Tsöndru) for five days. His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa will be teaching and leading the Chenrezig Sadhana for three evenings.

PMC is organized by Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI), from 25th Dec 2018 to 3rd Jan 2019, in New Delhi.

Every year devotees come from various part of the world for learning, contemplating and meditating Buddha Dharma at KIBI.
