KIBS Charitable Event

On March 30th 2017, led by Professor Sempa Dorje, a group of monks went to the National Association for the Blind in South Delhi. This day’s lunch was sponsored by the Karmapa International Buddhist Society but, more importantly, seven children living there are receiving continuous support from KIBS for their ongoing studies.

The group was welcomed by the Director Mr. Mukesh Sharma and was informed of the programs and initiatives at the school and of the progress made by the students supported by KIBS. Most of the students have received different forms of training at the school before entering various mainstream schools in Delhi. This provides a unique opportunity for both blind and seeing students to easier understand and accept each other, each with their different needs and strengths.

Our group was later guided though the facilities and had a chance to talk to some of the students. To conclude our visit we helped serve lunch to the students. It was very inspiring to see the active students engaging with us, being eager to share their stories and being curious about our group too. We wish the students good luck with their studies.
